The following should be noted regarding the figures provided below:
· The total detainee population at any given time during January, February and May 2023 at Banksia Hill and Unit 18 fluctuated around 100.
· Data for each individual month includes a distinct count of young people by the relevant groupings. As such the aggregate of the groupings may exceed the month’s total, where a young person appears in multiple groups in the month.
· Separate months should not be aggregated as a young person can be counted in more than one month.
· If a young person spent at least one day sentenced in a reporting period (month), they are counted in the “Sentenced” category. (i.e. a young person cannot be counted in both “Sentenced” and “Unsentenced” in a month).
· The data includes young people that were not detained overnight (i.e. received and discharged in one day).
