I refer to the current teaching positions in the WA public education system, and I ask: (a) How many education assistants are undertaking teaching duties; (b) In which schools are there education assistants undertaking teaching duties in Western Australia; (c) Are parents aware when their children are being taught by unqualified and unregistered staff; (d) What duty of care to students do such staff have; (e) What is the point of teacher registration if education assistants are able to teach without the consideration by the Teacher's Registration Board of their qualifications, English proficiency, fitness and properness, and professional standards; and (f) What level of teacher supervision do impacted education assistants and students receive?
