SOUTH WEST TOURISM — ACTING MINISTER FOR
TOURISM'S COMMENTS
755. Mr P. PAPALIA to the Acting Minister
for Tourism:
I have a supplementary question. Is
it not true that the biggest threat to tourism in the south west is
inappropriate, inaccurate and, frankly, boofhead comments by people such as the
Acting Minister for Tourism and the Premier?
Withdrawal of Remark
The SPEAKER : Member for Warnbro,
I think you should withdraw that.
Mr P. PAPALIA : Mr Speaker, I
withdraw the ''boofhead'' part. I do not withdraw the ''inaccurate''
and ''inappropriate'' comments, and I would like an answer.

If the comments were of that nature, perhaps the member for
Warnbro would have some argument; but my comments in response to questions a
week or two ago were certainly not of that nature at all and I have given a full
explanation. I strongly encourage people to take advantage of the substantial
attributes in the south west of the state—Margaret River, Yallingup,
Dunsborough and other areas. I have spent quite a bit of time down there in the
past and I would like to spend more time down there than I have the opportunity
at the moment, but I encourage other people to do so.
