Opportunities to hear comprehensible input" means that students have opportunities to hear translations of the target language (Standard Australian English) into their first language/dialect. Translations are mainly used in the early stages of second language learning and are provided by an Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer (AIEO) fluent in both languages/dialects
