With regards to the Department of Environment and Conservation’s management of Cape Le Grande National Park, I ask the Minister -
(1) Is the Department considering allowing commercial operators within Cape Le Grande National Park?
(2) If yes to (1), does this include, -
(a) accommodation at three different locations;
(b) the commercialising of campsites;
(c) new service facilities; and
(d) additional recreational opportunities?
(3) If yes to (1), -
(a) what consultation has occurred with stakeholders and the community;
(b) what is the proposed timing for these changes;
(c) what processes are to be undertaken; and
(d) will the park’s management plan be amended?
(4) If yes to (3)(d), when?

(1 - 4)  DEC is seeking public comment in relation to commercial operations in Cape Le Grand National Park via a Compatible Operations notice pursuant to section 33A(3) of the
Conservation and Land Management Act 1984,
which was advertised locally and Statewide in December 2009. Consideration will be given to allowing commercial operations after the public comment is analysed.
