(1) Can the Minister advise what modelling or calculations, if any, Fire and Emergency Services Australia (FESA) has undertaken to establish the additional costs or savings of the proposed removal of the so-called double shift for fire fighters?
(2) If so, what has those calculations shown in terms of additional costs or anticipated savings?
(3) If no to (1), why not?

(1) Data was gathered from the FESA Staff and Management System to model the extent of additional costs incurred as a result of multiple shifts. To offset the removal of the capability to work a third consecutive shift, mechanisms have been provided to firefighters through the extension of enhanced call back, hold back and mileage allowances which were introduced as part of the recent Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) negotiations.
(2) Anticipated savings approximate up to $733,000 per annum, however this is offset by the extension of the enhanced call back, hold back and mileage allowances which is approximately $403,000 per annum.
