As I have already
outlined, our government is always looking at what more it can do for regional
areas and ways to deliver care. Yesterday during private members' business, I
spent quite a bit of time talking about how hospitals are important but so are other
ways to deliver care, including things like Hospital in the Home. I can share
with the member that Albany Health Campus is incredibly proud of the work it is
doing to deliver care services—
Point of order
Mr Liam Staltari: On a point of relevance, the member
for Albany asked a very specific question about the number of patients who have
been put at risk of delay because of the government's failure.
Several
members interjected.
The Speaker: Members!
Mr Yaz Mubarakai interjected.
The Speaker: Member for Oakford! I shall not uphold
that point of order. The minister is responding to the question. Carry on,
minister.
Questions without notice resumed
Ms Meredith Hammat: I was making the point that we
deliver care in a range of different settings and ways. One of the things that
is occurring in Albany—they are incredibly excited about it, and it is
incredibly positive—
Several members
interjected.
The Speaker: Members, the minister is responding.
Ms Meredith Hammat: Albany Health Campus is looking at
innovative techniques, such as Hospital in the Home. In addition, the
government has made specific commitments in relation to Albany. We will always
look at what more we can do in regional areas.
