I refer to the article,
At-risk child ‘turned away’ from hospital
, published in the
Kalgoorlie Miner
on Saturday 29 April 2017, which details the case of a child being sent home from Kalgoorlie Health Service after openly admitting to attempt suicide, and I ask:
(a) was the Department of Child Protection notified of this incident;
(b) if yes to (a), when; and
(c) if yes to (a), what steps were taken by the department following notification?

It is not a requirement for the Department to receive notifications from a health service if a child presents as suicidal and/or with mental health concerns, unless there are child protection concerns or the child is in care. This child is not in care. (b-c) Not applicable.
(b-c) Not applicable.
