Police—Missing persons—Women
205. Hon Sophia Moermond to the minister representing
the Minister for Police:
I refer to WA police
records.
(1) Could the minister advise whether the Western
Australia Police Force maintains records of individuals reported missing
following the use of rideshare services?
(2) If yes to (1), how many of those reported
missing are women?
(3) Does the police force keep records of persons
reported missing in the vicinity of Rottnest Island in connection with
recreational boating activity?
(4) If yes to (2), how many of those reported
missing are women?

I thank the honourable
member for some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided
to me by the Minister for Police. I note that this is the member's last day and
the following will say that we do not have time to provide an answer now, but
we will table the answer in the timeframe that we provide.
The Western
Australia Police Force has advised that a response to the member's question
will require a significant number of resources and time to collate. A response
will be provided on Tuesday 27 May 2025.
