The term ‘pursuit’ is no longer used withing the Police Manual – this has been replaced with Evade Police Intercept Driving (EPID), a defined category of Emergency Driving. EPID refers to situations where the driver of a vehicle fails to stop when directed by police.
Note: Statistics for Table 1 and 2 represent the district or division to which the police officer involved in the pursuit is attached. As pursuits may travel through several districts, it is not possible to accurately capture or report the specific district in which each pursuit commenced, traversed, or ended.

(c) The Western Australia Police Force cannot provide a response as the number of arrests as a result of evade police incidents cannot be determined in a reliable and systematic manner. Significant manual interrogation of each evade police incidents is required on several police system to determine whether an evade police incidents resulted into an arrest. This would divert significant resources away from operational priorities.
