❓ A WA parliamentary question probes the Minister regarding communications surrounding Jetstar's flight service into Busselton airport, focusing on a specific FOI document and potential influence on Jetstar's operations and terminal needs. The Minister only answered parts h and i, deferring to the City of Busselton on airport fees and charges.

I refer to documents recently released via Freedom of Information (FOI) relating to communications in and around the securing of Jetstar as a flight service into the Busselton Margaret River airport, and ask: (a) Can the Minister confirm the name of the author of FOI document 19(a); (b) Can the Minister confirm the document was sent from the South West
Development Commission, either directly or from one of its board members; (c) What was the nature of the discussions the author of document 19(a) had with Jetstar as suggested in the document; (d) Did the author of document 19(a) suggest to Jetstar that the 3 times weekly flights for 3 years into Busselton be called a “trial”; (e) Did the author of document 19(a) pressure Jetstar into saying it did not need or want a new terminal; (f) Document 19(a) referred to the author confirming Jetstar’s latest
position, what position is the author referring to, when referencing a conversation with Jetstar; (g) Was document 19(a) the basis for the Minister making the decision to now call the 3 year Jetstar service a “trial”; (h) Can the Minister confirm the accuracy of comments made by the Premier in
response to a question from myself on Thursday, 28 November 209, that “if a new
terminal is built it will increase Jetstar’s costs.”; and (i) Can the Minister for Regional Development confirm whether the construction of a new terminal will increase Jetstar's costs? If so, on what basis?

h. & i. Airport fees ande charges are a matter for the City of Busselton to determine but it is reasonable to assume that the costs of operating a new terminal would be significantly higher than the existing terminal and those costs would either need to be passed on to the airlines or borne by the ratepayers of the City of Busselton.
