720. Mr McGOWAN to the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Tourism:
The Governments' request for proposal document of 23 August 2000 stated the following mandatory elements are "non-negotiable" -
Convention Centre - Plenary Hall - minimum capacity 2,500
12-14 Break out room
Banquet Hall minimum capacity 2,500
Exhibition Hall - Minimum of 20,000 square metres divided into at least 7 spaces;
Flexible Performance Space - to be a facility separate from the dedicated Convention and Exhibition
space with flexible seating for audiences between 300 and 1000;
Parking - provision for at least 600 extra spaces for the exhibition centre.
Will the Minister table details by each of the three respondents in relations to the shortfall (if any) of these mandatory requirements, that is -
(a) the number of seats and break out rooms provided for the Convention Centre;
(b) the amount of exhibition space and divisible spaces for the Exhibition Centre;
(c) the separation of performance space and the seating provided; and
(d) the amount of additional parking around the exhibition site?
