Minister for Housing:
I refer to the minister's radio comments yesterday
regarding the Osprey Key Worker Village and his admission that the government
has too much risk and his statement —
In hindsight, � sometimes you can
look at the actual detail of the actual contract.
(1) Exactly
how many property deals has the Barnett government signed and looked at the
details in only hindsight?
(2) Is it not
the case that the government was in such a rush to sign this contract that it
did not even look at the deal it was signing the taxpayers up to?

I thank the member for Cockburn for the question. In referring to hindsight, I
was referring to the property market. In terms of the investment that the
Department of Housing did in relation to that particular project, it is very
easy now with hindsight to look at a different market, but at the time the
investment in the Osprey village was —

To give the answer in context; it is easy in hindsight to look at a contract
and decide that it would have been much better not to have signed that contract
in hindsight of the market.
