Fogliani coronial inquest—Recommendations—Progress
reports1108.Hon Maryka Groenewaldto theparliamentary
secretary representing the Minister for Health:I refer to the
answer to question without notice 1081, in which I was told the 2024 and 2025
progress reports for the implementation of the Fogliani report recommendations
were deferred due to the timing of the caretaker period.(1) How was the release of the 2024 report
affected by the caretaker period, given it did not start until February 2025?(2) Why was the release of the 2025 report
affected by the caretaker period, given it ended in mid-March this year?(3) Why is it going to take nearly the entire year
to release the combined 2024–2025 reports in 2026?

Hon Pierre Yang replied:I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question.I have a different
question number, but I will assume this is for the same question. The following
answer has been provided by the Minister for Health.(1)–(3) Progress reports capture the
previous calendar year's activity and are developed and released in the
following calendar year. Preparation of the 2024 progress report commenced in
2025 but was halted due to the caretaker period. On that basis, a decision was
made to release a combined 2024–2025 report in 2026. Preparation of the
2025 progress report will commence in early 2026.
