INDIGENOUS
CHILDREN AND FAMILY CENTRES
611. Hon SUE ELLERY to the Minister for
Education:
I refer to the five Indigenous
children and family centres funded through the National Partnership Agreement
on Indigenous Early Childhood Development, which will expire soon.
(1) What will happen to those
centres when the national partnership expires?
(2) Will there be any change in the
scope of services currently provided?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1)–(2) This
matter is under discussion with the commonwealth government. The centres will
continue to operate through to 31 December 2014. No doubt there will be fairly
robust discussions.
