On 4 October the minister met with the council of the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale and told it that permits to operate B-double trucks to travel through Jarrahdale would not be granted until he again met with the shire, so that serious safety and amenity issues could be resolved. (1) Will the minister explain why the following week Main Roads issued 35 permits to 12 operators in breach of that undertaking? (2) Will the minister take steps to reverse that decision? Hon M.J.
