ENERGYSAFETY — INVESTIGATIONS
658. Hon KATE DOUST to the Minister for
Commerce:
I refer to the office of EnergySafety .
(1) How many notices of completion
are outstanding and still require investigation for 2016?
(2) What is the percentage
requirement for investigation each year?
(3) What percentage of total
noncompliant orders has been investigated for 2016?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) Notices of
completion are lodged after electrical and gas works are completed by
tradespeople and only trigger investigations if defects are uncovered during a subsequent
inspection. Therefore, the precise number requiring investigation is unknown.
(2) There is no
set requirement. The need for investigation is determined by the outcome of
inspections.
(3) This data is not collected.
