CHILD AND PARENT CENTRES
272. Hon LINDA
SAVAGE to the minister representing the Minister for Education:
I refer to the minister's media statement of 20 March
2012, ''New centres to give children the best start in life''.
(1) Will the
principal of each of the 10 schools be able to choose the coordinator for the
centre to be located on their school site; and, if not, who will decide the
coordinator appointment?
(2) Will the coordinator be employed directly by the school
or the Department of Education?
(3) Who will the coordinator report to on an ongoing basis?
(4) In
relation to the $28.8 million to be invested in the next four years, what is
the approximate allocation per year, per school, including capital costs, if
any; and will schools have autonomy in deciding how the funds are spent?
(5) In
relation to Warriapendi Primary School, are the funds to be received in
addition to the federal funding for the early learning and care centre that is
to be located on that school site?
