In relation to the Hummerston House heritage building on the Esplanade, I ask:
(a) has the Minister or the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority requested approval or undertaken without approval the removal of the dressing rooms from the heritage building which is to be preserved;
(b) will the Minister table any advice he has received or sought regarding the dressing rooms;
(c) has the Minister sought or provided any other heritage advice regarding further changes to the Hummerston building, its storage or future use; and
(d) will the Minister table that advice, and if not, why not?

(a) A Development Application for works at the Elizabeth Quay site, which included the partial demolition and deconstruction of the Florence Hummerston Kiosk was approved by the Western Australian Planning Commission.
(b) The Heritage Council advised the Western Australian Planning Commission that it supported the demolition of the dressing rooms within the Florence Hummerston Kiosk because they no longer held much of the original fabric. It was recommended that further investigations into the retention of the kiosk should be undertaken. Under the provisions of Section 11 of the
Heritage of Western Australia Act 1990
, the Western Australian Planning Commission determined to proceed with the deconstruction and storage of the Kiosk as there was no prudent and feasible alternative for retention in situ.
(c) Yes
(d) There is no requirement under the
Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority Act 2011
for documents of this nature to be tabled in Parliament.
