I refer to identity scanning systems (for example Nightkey and idEye) installed at licensed premises, and I ask -
(1) Which licensed premises in Western Australia have been required by the Department to install or use an identity scanning system, for example as a condition of their licence?
(2) In considering an application for a liquor licence/extension of liquor licence how does the Department take into account the presence or absence of an identity scanning system at the premises?
(3) Regarding the answer to (2), how has this information been publicised by the Department to applicants/intending applicants?
(4) What information does the Department provide to licensees who have installed, or who may be considering installing, an identity scanning system regarding, -
(a) Federal privacy law obligations including the National Privacy Principles; and
(b) how to protect personal information collected by identity scanning systems from identity crime?
(5) Does the list on the Department’s website of people who are subject to prohibition orders also include people who are subject to barring notices?
(6) If no to (5), where can licensees find out whether or not a would-be patron is the subject of a barring notice?
