(1) What percentage of total electricity generation effort on the SWIS was provided by renewable energy generation in the years 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 (If it is not possible to provide the information by calendar years an answer by financial years would be acceptable)?
(2) What percentage of total electricity generation effort on the SWIS is expected to be provided by renewable energy generation in the years 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 (If it is not possible to provide the information by calendar years an answer by financial years would be acceptable)?

(1)  Estimates of the percentages of total energy generation provided by renewable energy within the South West Interconnected System traded in the wholesale electricity market are as follows.
· 2004-05 1.1%
· 2005-06 3.1%
· 2006-07 5.4%
· 2007-08 5.3%
· 2008-09 5.0%
· 2009-10 4.8%
The provisional estimate for 2010-11 is 5.2%.
(2) No annual estimates of renewable energy generation for these out years have been determined. However, the period from 2009-10 to 2013-14 will see construction and commissioning of 280 megawatts of wind generation capacity and 10 megawatts of solar generation.
It is anticipated that commissioning of these utility-scale developments will see renewable energy generation deliver in the range of 10 to 11% of electricity consumption in the South West Interconnected System by 2013-14.
In addition, it is estimated that ongoing growth in small-scale generation capacity could increase the total renewable energy contribution figure by a further 1 or 2% over this timeframe and so reach around 11 to 13% by 2013-14.
