BROOME–DERBY
1181. Hon KEN BASTON to the minister representing the
Minister for Transport:
(1) In
preparation for the 2019–20 WA state budget, will the minister consider
allocating funds to improve the condition of the Great Northern Highway section
between Broome and Derby, particularly the 112 kilometres between Roebuck and
Willare?
(2) If yes to (1), what improvements
are being considered?
(3) If no to (1), why not?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1)–(3) Following
the significant flood damage that occurred in the West Kimberley last summer, a
substantial amount of reinstatement work has been undertaken on this section of
the network. Main Roads is continuing to investigate other improvement
opportunities and these will be progressed as part of the normal budgetary
process.
