(1) Will the State Government continue to fund the Ethnic Communities Council of Western Australia (ECCWA) on the basis that has been used by previous governments, both Labor and Coalition?
(2) Does the introduction of the Ethnic Organisations Fund herald a change in funding arrangements for other peak bodies, including the Western Australian Council of Social Service and the Women’s Council for Domestic and Family Violence Service; and
(a) if not, why is the ECCWA being singled out in this way?
(3) Has the Minister’s Multicultural Advisory Council been consulted on this matter; and
(a) if so, what were their views?

(3) Yes.
(a) The Multicultural Advisory Group supported a review of Annual Funding Agreements and the use of an open application process for grants with priorities reflecting the Office of Multicultural Interests' Strategic Plan 2009-13. This was also the view expressed by members of the community in the Strategic Plan consultations.
