I refer the Minister to the Pelvic Mesh issue currently affecting many Western Australian women and ask: (a) how many pelvic mesh implants have been installed under the WA public health system since its introduction; (b) how many calls have been received by the special Department of Health 'Pelvic Mesh Contact Line', and of those: (i) how many lead to follow up of any kind by department staff; and (ii) how many women have been assessed by the specialists and of those how many have been placed on the waiting list for surgery; (c) how many women are currently on the waiting list for any kind of procedure related to pelvic mesh and what priority have they been allocated; (d) how many women have been treated or are currently in treatment due to pelvic mesh complications; and (e) what does the Department estimate the issue will cost to manage and by whom will that cost be borne?
