I refer to vocational education and training VET FEE HELP loans awarded in Western Australia, and I ask: (a) how many VET FEE HELP loans were awarded in Western Australia in each of 2012, 2013 and 2014; (b) what was the total value of these loans; (c) what is the average value of each individual loan; and (d) how many VET FEE HELP loans were awarded to students living in the South West in each of 2012, 2013 and 2014: (i) for each year, what was the average value of each loan?

(a) Prior to 2014, VET FEE-HELP loans in Western Australia were only available for non-government funded training delivery. The Department of Training and Workforce Development does not hold this data.
With the introduction of the student entitlement model under the National Partnership Agreement on Skills Reform, VET FEE-HELP loans for government funded training were made available in Western Australia from January 2014.
The Department of Training and Workforce Development has loan data for State Training Providers up to the end of September 2014 only. There were loans for 3513 government subsidised course enrolments at State Training Providers.
(b) $11 571 560.
(c) The average loan value per course enrolment was $3294.
(d) There were loans for 113 government subsidised course enrolments at State Training Providers to students living in the South West.
(i) The average value of each loan was $3085 per course enrolment.
