I refer to the response to question on notice No.
4285, answered on 11 October 2016, and I ask:
(a) how many special
guardianship orders were granted, by each region, in each of:
(i) 2016-17 to date;
(ii) 2015-16;
(iii) 2014-15; and
(iv) 2013-14; and
(b) given the success achieved in
the Goldfields, in reducing the number of children entering care by 38 per cent
over the three year period, why is the “Department’s permanency planning policy by
increased use of Special Guardianship and successful reunification of children
with their families” not rolled out in other districts?
