(a-c) The Western Australian Police Force does not directly employ psychiatrists, however these services are provided via a contract for the provision of independent psychiatrist opinions. Associated costs for psychiatrist treatments are covered by the relevant work and non-work-related medical expense provisions in the WA Police Force Industrial Agreement. The agency has established relationships and referral pathways with a group of psychiatrists who facilitate access to psychiatry services for officers.
