the status of preparing an amending deed?

has not received a briefing or a briefing note, when does she expect that to
occur given the importance of the planned Chevron building to the Elizabeth

(3) When does the

Thank you, Mr President, and I thank
the member for the question.
(1)–(3) No,
I have not been briefed on that matter. Obviously, prior to becoming Minister
for Planning I was aware of some announcements of a planned delay. I have
advised the Premier and the Department of the Premier and Cabinet of a potential
or perceived conflict of interest with respect of Chevron. I can see the member
nodding, so she is aware of where I am going with this. It is no secret that my
husband works for Chevron. As I say, I have already taken steps to remove
myself from any matters to avoid any perceived or potential conflict of
interest in matters surrounding Chevron Australia. The directors general of the
departments and agencies that fall under all of my portfolio responsibilities
have been advised, so all matters surrounding Chevron will be dealt with by the
former Minister for Planning, the Minister for Health, Hon John Day. Chevron has
also taken steps to ensure that my husband is removed from any potential
conflicts of interest. With respect to the questions that the member has asked,
they will appropriately be dealt with, when that time comes, by the Minister
for Health acting on my behalf.
