WITTENOOM - ASBESTOS-RELATED DISEASES

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. (1) No. The lag time for asbestos-related diseases makes this difficult to accurately evaluate. (2) At least one case of mesothelioma has been diagnosed in a resident who went to Wittenoom after mining operations had ceased.
