Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Can
you repeat that question so we can hear it?
Mr M.H. TAYLOR :
Sure, Mr Speaker.

I thank the member for the question. Unfortunately, member, I
did not see the program on TV last night because I had the great pleasure of
being at a St Patrick's Day function with the member for Girrawheen and
some past members promoting our Irish heritage.
Mr F.M. Logan interjected.
The SPEAKER :
Member for Cockburn, I call you to order for the first time.
Dr K.D. HAMES : I
had an opportunity to watch just before we came in today. The Premier made one
of the few slip-ups he ever makes in giving me credit for the program last
night and saying how well it went! He normally tries to keep me in my place all
the time. But having reviewed the footage this morning, it showed the hospital
in a fantastic light. It shows what a magnificent facility it will be. It
showed the robotic devices that take the food around the hospital and how that
system will work. The public will have the opportunity to see what Channel Seven
showed in its excellent program about the great quality of the hospital. Over
the next week we expect over 3 000 people to have the opportunity to walk
through and look at those facilities. I invite any members who are here today
to take up that opportunity. On Wednesday, Friday and Sunday there will be
opportunities for the public to look around the hospital and see what is there.
They will be able to see the great work that has been done in setting up the
massive amount of work that still needs to be done to get the hospital ready to
have patients, not just in the area of information and communications
technology, but also in training and appointing staff, making sure that all of
the equipment is installed and working properly, and even simple things such as
making sure that the beds and bedding are all in place and ready for patients.
A massive amount of work still needs to be done. I am very glad to have the
opportunity to let the public come in to see not only the great work that has
been done, but also recognise all the work that still needs to be done.
