ROE
HIGHWAY — EXTENSION — HEAVY VEHICLE TOLL
583. Hon KATE DOUST to the
parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I ask this question without notice on behalf of Hon Ken Travers who is
away on urgent parliamentary business.
(1) When did the Western Australian
government first become aware that the federal government was considering
providing funds for the Roe Highway extension?
(2) When did the WA government first become
aware that the federal funding was likely to be conditional on the WA
government charging heavy vehicles a toll to use the road?
(3) When was the Premier first advised that funding was conditional on a
heavy vehicle toll?
(4) Was it the federal government or the
state government that first proposed the idea of a charge on heavy vehicles
using the road?
(5) What role did the Mayor of Melville have in the proposal to charge a
toll?
