I refer to the regional incentive
framework and associated $12.4 million in funding announced on 13 November.
(1) Please detail for each of the 48
schools whether they are considered rural, regional or remote.
(2) When was the
Teach in WA campaign started and how many individual people have contacted the
team since it was created?
(3) What is the breakdown of
start-up incentives and first year completion?
(4) Please table the regional
incentive framework.

(2) The current
Teach in WA recruitment campaign started in 2019. The department does not keep
central records of queries about this campaign.
(3) An attraction
payment of 25 per cent of the total incentive will be paid to eligible staff.
That is for attraction and paid at the start. This will be adjusted pro rata
for FTE. A retention payment will be made at the cessation of the 2023 school
year to all staff remaining in situ. For staff who have been at the school for
the whole year, this will be the full remaining 75 per cent of the total
incentive. This will be adjusted pro rata for FTE. Staff who are in situ at the
cessation of the 2023 school year who commenced after the start of term 1 will
receive a pro rata amount, based on the period of tenure.
(4) The regional
incentives framework identified schools most in need of staffing support in
2023 through workforce metrics and other vulnerability indicators. Eligible
schools have been classed on the Accessibility/Remoteness Index of Australia,
staff movements and previous use of flying squad relief, the average number of
applications per advertised process, the Index of Community Socio-educational
Advantage and existing financial incentives.
