The Department of Housing advises:
(1)
Housing has engaged an engineering company (Parsons Brinkerhoff) who has undertaken a scoping report and provided recommended water treatment design options.
Tender documentation was prepared and a public tender process closed on 27 July 2013. Tender submissions are currently being assessed.
(2)
A total of $10m has been allocated to infrastructure upgrades at Jigalong. It is estimated that approximately $2m will be allocated to the water treatment system, subject to the outcome of the current tender review process.
A $120,000 contract for the engineering of the water treatment system has been awarded, with one progress payment of $11,000 being made to date.
(3)
Operational completion is anticipated early in 2014, following extensive testing.
