Perth entertainment and sporting
precinct
365. Hon Anthony Spagnolo to the parliamentary
secretary representing the Minister for Sport and Recreation:
I refer to the
government's proposed race track at Burswood Park and the Deputy Premier's
comments in June last year, in which she said:
Imagine the noise, atmosphere, and
crowds as V8s fly around a new and specially designed race track in Burswood
Park, just a stone's throw away from the city. It'll be incredible …
(1) Can the Deputy Premier explain why the naming
of the Perth entertainment and sport precinct at Burswood makes no reference to
a racetrack?
(2) Can the Deputy Premier explain why the
government's community consultation tent set up last week featured concept
photos exclusively of parklands, with only one small image of a race car and no
visual representation of a race track?
