I refer to the unaccompanied refugee children who have been identified for transport to Malaysia and to the Premier’s comments on Friday, 5 August 2011, and I ask -
(1) Does the Minister acknowledge any responsibility for these children?
(2) If yes to (1), what is the Minister doing to ensure that these children are kept in Australia?

(1) - (2) I have written to the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship expressing my deep concerns for these children and have requested that he reconsider his policy of sending unaccompanied children to Malaysia. This question is no longer valid due to the High Court decision.
