I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question. This answer has been
provided by the Minister for Water.
(1)–(3) The Cook
government has committed an additional $4.2 million in the 2025–26
state budget to accelerate water planning in the Pilbara over the next two
years to support regional development and address the impacts of climate
change. The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation manages the abstraction
of water via individual water licences, which includes site-specific
assessments of water resources to determine the suitable take.
