389. Hon JACQUI BOYDELL to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the minister's
media statement of 12 April 2019 regarding the construction of the $6.3 million
MRI suite at Kalgoorlie Health Campus. It states ''� with construction
expected to follow in the first half of 2020''.
(1) Can the
minister please provide an update on the status of the Kalgoorlie MRI suite
construction process?
(2) Has the
tender been let for the construction of the MRI suite, and what is the status
of the tender process?
(3) Is any local
content weighting included in this tender; and, if so, can the minister please
provide details?
(4) Will the government commit to fast-tracking this
project to provide an economic boost to the Kalgoorlie– Boulder
community and support COVID-19 recovery?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1)–(2) The construction tender for the Kalgoorlie Health
Campus MRI suite is due to be released on Tenders WA next week.
(3) There will be standard price preferences and
regional business percentages applied to the submitted prices , as per
the Buy Local policy.
(4) The project
will be completed as soon as practicable. This does not account for any
unanticipated need for the WA health system to respond to the COVID-19
situation, which may impact on the proposal.
