With reference to Question on Notice No. 587 of 2006, will the Minister please advise -
(1) What is the extent of data collected in 2004, 2005 and so far in 2006 with regard to drugs in schools?
(2) What are the requirements on individual schools and district offices with regard to the collection of data concerning drugs in schools?
(3) How many drug searches were conducted in government schools in 2004, 2005 and so far in 2006?
(4) How many students were -
(a) suspended; and
(b) charged with drugs offences
in 2004, 2005 and so far in 2006?
(5) What is the procedure for schools to follow if the possession of drugs by a student is suspected?
(6) What is the procedure for schools to follow if a student is found to be in the possession of -
(a) drugs; and/or
(b) alcohol
while on the school grounds?
