The Minister for Energy received a letter dated 5 November 2015, from Mr Geoff Culbert advising that General Electric (GE) had acquired the power and grid operations of Alstom. No response or contact was made subsequently to this.

Forge Group had sub-contracted work for the South Hedland Switch Yard to Alstom Power. After Forge Group went into voluntary administration on 6 February 2014, Horizon Power negotiated the contract with Alstom to complete the remaining scope or work for the South Hedland Switch Yard.
