DEPARTMENT
OF AGRICULTURE AND FOOD WA — TRANSFER PASTURE ACTIVITIES
940. Hon NIGEL HALLETT to the
Minister for Agriculture and Food:
I refer to the request for expressions of interest on
industry ownership of pasture breeding and agronomy advertised in The West Australian recently .
(1) Is there a
price range for the expression of interest?
(2) Does ''going
concern'' mean that the business is profitable?
(3) Does the
Grains Research and Development Corporation or Meat and Livestock Australia
provide funds for these projects?
(4) Is the
Department of Agriculture and Food WA proposing to sell the remainder of the
business; and, if so, does DAFWA have a specific time frame for this?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
(1) There is
no price range as the Department of Agriculture and Food is endeavouring to
transfer pasture activities to industry.
(2) ''Going
concern'' means fully functional but not profitable.
(3) Yes.
(4) DAFWA is
not selling but is endeavouring to transfer pasture activities to industry. The
transfer process is planned for completion by the end of 2015.
