ESPERANCE PORT AUTHORITY - LEAD CONCENTRATE EXPORT
I refer the minister to the environmental approval given to the Esperance Port Authority to export lead concentrate. (1) Was the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure informed of the approval; and, if not, why not? (2) If yes to (1), will the minister table the relevant correspondence; and, if not, why not? (3) Will the minister table the briefing provided to the Minister for the Environment regarding the decision to approve the port’s application to export lead concentrate; and, if not, why not? The Minister for the Environment has provided an answer in the following terms - (1) No. The former Department of Environment issued licence approval to the Esperance Port Authority to export lead concentrate under part V of the Environmental Protection Act 1986. The department did not brief the Minister for the Environment about the licence decision. (2) Not applicable. (3) See (1).
