1197. Hon PETER COLLIER to the minister representing the
Minister for Police:
I refer to the canine section of Western
Australia Police Force.
(1) How many dogs
are currently in the canine section?
(2) What is the
cost per dog per annum in the canine section?
(3) Are any dogs
allocated to any regional districts; and if not, why not?

The Western Australia Police Force has provided the
following advice.
(1) There are 28.
(2) The annual
cost per dog is approximately $3 000 to $5 000.
(3) There are
three canine teams deployed statewide based on operational needs.
