Health and Disability Services Complaints Office
Translated documents have previously been sent to areas where the Health and Disability Services Complaints Office (HaDSCO) has held regional visits. This includes the Indian Ocean Territories, where translated brochures were sent to education, health and government establishments. Translated documents are also displayed at HaDSCO own, and externally led events across Western Australia. Requests for translated documents are dealt with on an ad hoc basis and cover a variety of uses including community centres, health centres and information stands. Translated documents are also included on HaDSCO's website (
www.hadsco.wa.gov.au
), available for download. Translated information is available in the following languages: Cocos Malay; Indonesian; Italian; Malaysian; Simplified and Traditional Chinese; Vietnamese; Arabic and Aboriginal languages.
Tourism Western Australia
Tourism Western Australia displays selected and targeted tourism related content aimed at promoting Western Australia as tourism destination to consumers via its website (
www.westernaustralia.com
) in the following languages: Chinese; Traditional Chinese; Korean; Japanese and German. Videos with subtitles in Simple Chinese, German, Japanese and Korean are also available via
www.youtube.com/user/westernaustralia
."
The worldwide trend is to use electronic marketing. Tourism Western Australia produces a wide range of electronic/digital marketing materials which are available from www.westernaustralia.com and www.tourism.wa.gov.au. Very few marketing materials are printed in hard copy because the main means of distribution and communications are the agency's abovementioned consumer and corporate websites.
Tourism Western Australia does produce three planners where it has responsibility for editorial content and distribution - the
Japanese Wildflower Guide, Chinese Holiday Travel Planner and Korean Guide
. All publications have targeted tourism related content aimed at promoting Western Australia as a tourism destination and are distributed via trade training sessions, trade media enquiries, Aussie Specialists training, tradeshows, roadshows, inbound tour operators, consumer events, etc.
Rottnest Island Authority
Podcasts and videos on various aspects of Rottnest Island are available in German, French, Spanish and Chinese via
www.youtube.com/user/RottnestIslandTV
.
Rottnest Walk Trail signage also contains quick result (QR) codes linking specific locations along the trail to the above podcasts.
Visitor information is also available from Visitor Centre and Reservations staff who speak Japanese, Italian, French and Filipino.
