I refer to the Redlion Bus and Coach Company in Esperance,
and ask: (a) does
the company hold a contract under the Public Transport
Authority (PTA) to supply a town bus service in Esperance; (b) if
no to (a), what is the nature of the contract between the
company and the Department of Transport (DOT); (c) if
yes to (a): (i) how many buses does this company operate under this contract; (ii) what is the duration of the current contract and date for renewal; and (iii) for how many years has the company held transport contracts with the PTA, how many contracts have they held and what was the duration of each contract; (d) is
it correct that the company also holds contracts with the School Bus Services
(SBS) division of the DOT; (e) if
no to (f), what is the nature of the contract between the
company and the DOT; (f) if yes to (f): (i) how many individual contracts does the company hold with the SBS, and how many buses operate from those contracts; (ii) what
is the total duration of each contract and when do they expire; and (iii) for
how many years has the company held transport contracts with the SBS, how many
contracts have they held and what was the duration of each contract; (g) is
it correct that the contracts referred to in (a) and (d) are designed
specifically to transport school children, in that the destination of these
buses are predominantly the schools in the Esperance town site; (h) if
no to (g), then what is correct concerning this matter; and (i) how
many children does the company transport, both to and from the schools in the
region, each month on average?
