FREMANTLE HOSPITAL CATEGORY 2 MEDIAN WAITING TIME - MR TED CURTIS
I refer to my previous question to which the minister stated that category 2 median waiting time for Fremantle Hospital is 83 days and I draw the minister’s attention to Mr Ted Curtis, who is behind me in the public gallery today. (1) Is the minister aware of the medical history of Mr Curtis, a 77-year-old man who has had triple bypass surgery, a stroke that has left a speech impairment and radiation therapy for prostate cancer that has left a stricture so that he has to regularly insert a catheter into his bladder? (2) Is the minister aware that after nine months, or 270 days - not 83 days median - waiting for surgery that will rectify his problem, Mr Curtis’s surgery has been cancelled seven times? (3) Will the minister guarantee that Mr Curtis’s surgery, now rescheduled for the eighth time, will not be cancelled yet again? Mr J.A. McGINTY
