I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
(1) In a
workforce the size of the Department of Education there are always employees
who may become surplus to immediate requirement. As at 31 July 2015, the
Department had 450 registrable employees: 184 of those employees were from country
education regions and 266 were from metropolitan regions. Given the size of the
department, vacancies arise on a daily basis, which provides opportunities for
registrable employees to secure an alternative position. It has never been any
different and goes on all the time. There is no time limit on how long an
employee can be classified as registrable.
(2)–(3)
North metropolitan education region, 156; south metropolitan education region,
110; midwest education region, 27; south west education region, 48; wheatbelt
education region, 55; Pilbara education region, eight; goldfields education
region, 30; and Kimberley education region, 16.
