(1) I support the principle of consolidation and will review the planning legislation in the light of submissions received on the previous Government's draft Urban and Regional Planning Bill 2000 and the need for legislative changes arising from the recommendations of the Machinery of Government Taskforce.
(2) At this stage I plan to bring the legislation to Parliament in 2002.
