ANIMAL ACTIVISM — LEGISLATION
1382. Hon COLIN de GRUSSA to the Leader of the House
representing the Attorney General:
I refer to the comments made by the
Attorney General on 10 April 2019, when he stated that he would bring a submission
relating to deterring criminal activists and rural crime into Parliament for
debate ''well in advance of 21 November''.
(1) Given that today is 21 November and the Attorney General
has not yet presented any legislation as promised, when can the WA
public expect to see this promised legislation?
(2) Does the
Attorney General expect to submit any legislation related to rural crime and
criminal activists before the end of the year?
(3) Why has the state government abandoned its promise
to protect farming families and regional communities from criminal
activists?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) As the
Attorney General indicated in response to Legislative Assembly question without
notice 583 on 7 August 2019, the legislation will be introduced as soon as it
is ready.
(2) See answer to (1).
(3) Not applicable.
