(2) FESA has responsibility for fire prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery programs and services, and is the recognised hazmat agency within a gazetted fire district included in the areas above. These services are provided by FESA through the career and volunteer Fire and Rescue Service Brigades located in the City of Bunbury. For areas outside the gazetted fire district services are provided by FESA through the Eaton/Australind Volunteer Fire & Rescue Service Brigade located adjacent to the Leschenault Estuary on Hamilton Road, Eaton, which is responsible for the communities of Eaton and Australind. For unallocated Crown land and unmanaged reserves outside the gazetted fire district and contained within the above areas FESA has a fire prevention and management responsibility for terrestrial areas on behalf of the Department of Land Administration. Under the Bush Fires Act 1954 , FESA supports the administration and operations of the Shire of Harvey’s Leschenault Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade located on Australind Road.
