(1) Is the Shire of Kalamunda under the benchmark for high care nursing home bed places?
(2) If yes, by how many beds?
(3) What measures has the State Government undertaken to make it clear to the Commonwealth Government that there is a shortage of nursing home beds in the Shire of Kalamunda?
(4) Was the Aged Care Planning Advisory Committee expected to meet in preparation for another allocation round of new high care places in early 2000?
(5) Has that meeting occurred?
(6) If not, what is the new schedule for the meeting?

1) Yes.
2) 83 beds.
3) The Commonwealth has an Aged Care Planning and Advisory Committee (ACPAC) the function of which is to identify areas of highest relative need and make recommendations to the Commonwealth Minister for Aged Care on the development and location of new places. The Health Department of Western Australia is a member of the ACPAC and as such has input into the discussions relating to areas of need and subsequent bed allocations.
